The Philosophical Developer — Chapter 9.5: The Sites

Production vs R&D

I have had onlyascii.dev for a long time. It was never close to what it is now.

The Philosophical Developer series changed that. Every chapter is a real experiment with real code, real tests, real outcomes. The code is on GitHub. The trace tags are there for anyone to verify. The methodology is developed openly with my young Padawan OrsonRius.

I was publishing these on LinkedIn. That worked, but it is not where the work lives. LinkedIn is for announcements. The blog is for the work itself. The full chapters, the header images, the navigation between them, the RSS feed for people who remember what that is.

I am not going to spam you with every experiment. There will be many, and I mean many. If you want to follow along, point your RSS reader at onlyascii.dev. No algorithms, no noise, no newsletters. Just the posts when they land.

The company site at onlyascii.io got the same refresh. Same brand, same phosphor green, same monospace discipline. One identity for the business, one for the workshop. Both are platform engineering with agentic tooling. One produces production outcomes. The other produces R&D outcomes.

Everything else stayed the same. The experiments, the methodology, the trace tags. The padawan still writes the code. I still steer.
